Baby Sign Language
In this Article it explains how babies are capable of learning sign language before they can speak. Babies enjoy to mimic what they see, so it becomes easier for babies to learn Sign Language. It is a fascinating thing that babies and parents enjoy; it reduces the stress on both the baby and parents. Parents and their kids create a great bond. The ability to teach babies Sign Language was discovered by Joseph Garcia. He stated that with a lot of patience it can be done and babies seem to improve their vocabulary. I picked this article because it was interesting to learn that babies have the ability to learn language as young before even learning to pronouncing them. I agree with this article because i understand why it would be less stressful for the parents to figure out their babies emotions and what they need in order to be happy.
The article made me want to learn more about sign language and how babies can understand sign language and what it takes to teach a baby to sign. The article impacts the world because it informs people that there is better way to communicating with a baby instead of figuring out the babies feelings.

Blog 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRLMDeF7x9Y
For my first blog i picked a you-tube video of a boy rapping in 6 different languages. The video interested me because without hesitation he changed from one language to another. The video overall amazed me and i would like to learn more about how it is possible for our mind to think in many languages. The video affects the world because it inspires people to learn other languages.

Introductory Blog: Who I am
Hi There! My name is Denisse Selene Parra.
I was born in Hermosillo Sonora Mexico. I moved to the States in 2003 when i was just 8 years old. My primary Language is Spanish (obviously), but i seem to dominate English better since i have more practice with it . I came to the United States with no knowledge of the English language. In School i struggled immensely and i would get depressed from the drastic life style that i had in my life. I spend my time in detention most of the first year at school because i would not do my homework; i did not understand it, so i refused to do it. School was a traumatizing experience for me when i was a child, and that lasted for about a year. After the year i could understand it , but i did not speak fluently and my grammar was not great. Throughout the time i learned to speak correctly and I even earned awards for being in the top list of my English classes. In high School i studied French for 2 years and i am able to recognize some of the words and phrases even though i have not had enough practice with it. Studying French derived me to love language more and i became really interested to figure out how language works.
I am taking ENG 213 as required class for my ASU Mapp. I want to obtain my Linguistics BA Degree. I pursue the dream to be an interpreter one day.
